Where can I find geolocation polygon information for political regions?(i.e. state boundaries, county borders)

I'd like to be able to overlay things like voting districts, state boundaries, etc. on a map. Is there a standard publication that outlines the polygons that define the borders of states, counties, voting districts, cities, metropolitan regions, etc.?
