I recommend borrowing movies of those two plays from the library and watching them. Seeing the stuff acted out and hearing it spoken might help. I'd say go for the Midsummer Night's Dream with Kevin Kline and As You Like It as directed by Kenneth Branagh and starring Bryce Dallas Howard.
