Computer science engineering or electronics and communication which should i opt if i wanna b a chip designer?

i hv lots of interest in designing branch....i luv dat thing nd for dat i hve to opt ece..bt whn i c tdays trend its only cse whch is flourishing....my brother says many people in u.s are jobless who opted ece...bt i wanna b a chipdesigner dats my only aim...so can u help me in opying my stream....em vry confuse...??
